Ideal for Families

Nire Valley Glamping offers fresh air, freedom, adventures for kids and adults!

The lorry is set in its own field is perfect for kids to let off steam, run around, explore, make dens and enjoy the outdoor life.

The lorry is not suitable for toddlers due to the access and the wood burning stove.

The lorry has a king-size bed space above the cab and room for a single folding bed at night, families can also pitch a tent beside the lorry (there is an additional charge of €10 per person).

We also have tents which can sleep up to four people with beds/bedding/towels -please contact us for prices/options.

Nire Valley Glamping is not a campsite so you and your family will have peace and space to yourselves.

Things we think kids will enjoy at Nire Valley Glamping:

  • Watching the wild life from the lorry
  • Reading books in the hammock
  • Toasting marsh mallows on the barbeque
  • Staying up star gazing
  • Playing board games
  • Nature walks

There are 12 acres in total including a small river and a woodland ,a flock of tame sheep, two horses and our hens.

Children will love the sense of adventure of staying in such quirky accommodation. They can peep out of the small windows beside the bed and watch the wildlife all around ;red squirrels, rabbits, pheasants and birds of prey.

Parents can relax and self cater in the lorry or use the barbeque outside.

There is a good choice of short walks locally; up to a stone circle, or stepping stones across the mountain river. There are also forestry paths in the valley suitable for mountain bikes or the wonderful “Greenway” is popular for families walking and cycling. The Greenway is thirty minutes away by car, kids will love the going through the tunnel and over the viaducts.(www.deisegreenway.com )

The other huge asset West Waterford has for families are the safe and unspoilt beeches. Clonea near Dungarvan offers a wide sandy beach, Stradbally Cove is a deep sandy cove further along the Copper coast , and the sheltered cove at Helvick Head are perfect for paddlers swimmers and family picnics. Kids will also enjoy visiting the Mahon waterfall.

The village of Ballymacarbry is closeby with a shop, petrol station and pubs.

Clonmel is a pleasant town twenty minutes scenic drive away,it has good facilities ; cinema, swimming pool, bowling alley, family friendly restaurants ,nice play parks and riverside walk. Clonmel holds the “Junction festival” in July which has many events for children to enjoy.

Dungarvan is a lovely seaside town with nice cafes ,seafood traditional music and is tourist friendly. It is also the start of the Greenway with bike hire shops. Children may also enjoy a trip on the Suir Valley railway.

Nire valley Glamping is a holiday with a difference- stimulating for kids, relaxing for parents. It is a chance to enjoy the simple things and make happy memories.
